Introduction

The Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) is a science and technology research institute established by the Government of Botswana. It is a parastatal under the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology. BITRI was established to undertake research, identify and or develop appropriate technologies in line with national priorities and needs of Botswana.

Specification

Main Purpose of the Job:

Manage the planning and implementation of Natural Resources and Material projects on filtration technologies.

Requirements

Education:

• A PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science or any other equivalent qualification acceptable to BITRI.
  Experience and working knowledge:
• At least 10 years of research experience with proven knowledge in Natural Resources and Materials.
• The research experience must include at least 4 years of programme management and electrospinning as a technique to develop filter materials.
• One position is for air filtration,
• Requires experience in designing and developing nanomaterials for use in protective clothing.
  The second position is for water filtration
• Requires experience in development of nanofiber materials for use in removing toxins and contaminants from portable and industrial waste water.
