Introduction

The Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) is a science and technology research institute established by the Government of Botswana. It is a parastatal under the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology. BITRI was established to undertake research, identify and or develop appropriate technologies in line with national priorities and needs of Botswana.

Specification

Main Purpose of the Job:

• Define, lead, direct, and execute technical programs focused on creating new building materials and establishing fundamental understanding of them so that they can be manifested into new products or entire technology platforms.
• Create a proper work environment for the division, and manage its resources to achieve its goals.

Requirements

• A PhD in Civil Engineering, Material Science or related field from a recognised institution or any other equivalent qualification acceptable to BITRI.
• Experience and working knowledge:
• At least 12 years of research experience with proven knowledge in Building Material Science. The experience must include at least 5 years of leading research projects and teams of researchers.
