Job Summary

To assist the Teacher at the Pre-School with educational and non-educational tasks as delegated

Minimum requirements

• O’level plus Early Childhood certificate
• 2 years’ experience in an education environment
• 2 years in an English medium environment will be an added advantage

Key Effectiveness Areas

• Ass/sts in the compilation of budget by providing information based on functional sectional resource requirements.
• Produces, prepares and sets up teaching material as directed by the supervisor.
• Performs all tasks of a predominantly manual nature Le. cleaning, lifting, moving and offloading duties, etc.
• Sets up outdoor equipment, monitors and supervises children during free play to ensure the»r safety.
• Observes small groups/mdivkJuats identified as needing additional assistance le. translations, listening to children re* telling stories and reports to the supervisor.
• Attends to and deals with minor incidents/accidents when they occur eg. children’s emergencies such as vomits, toilet (Self-mess) and bus routine.
• Assists with the toilet and tea -time routine for a group of children daily.
• Coaches children in sport, music, extramural activities and various basic developmental plays as required.
• Performs an array of administrative duties, including but not limited to photocopying and collation of teaching material, newsletters, etc. collation of pupil’s files.
• Implements safety, health and environment programmes in area of responsibility taking cognizance of all
