PART-TIME LEARNER STUDY CENTRE COORDINATOR

Botswana Open University requires a qualified and duty-conscious person to join the Francistown Regional Campus Tertiary Unit as a PART-TIME LEARNER STUDY CENTRE COORDINATOR for Tertiary programmes.

1. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

1. At least a Bachelors Degree in any field.
2. At least two years’ experience working in an educational environment.
3. Experience working with students in distance learning.
4. Possession of a teaching qualification will be an added advantage.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at every level of the University are essential.
6. Experience with student record keeping.
7. Attention to detail
8. Commitment to duty

Interested persons should be committed to working on weekends/after hours in accordance with the University schedule of activities.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES

As Learner Centre (LC) Coordinator you agree to carry out the

following responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient and effective operation of the LC.
• Coordinate all University activities at the LC.
• Attend to the general administration and coordination of the LC.
• Co-ordinate the use of facilities and equipment as per the Protocol of Agreement with the host institution.
• Act as liaison between the host institution and the University
• Account for BOU equipment and materials available at the LC.
• Organise scheduled tutorials/ make up tutorials and examinations and meetings in consultation with the tutors and Campus staff as stipulated in the Programme regulations and communicate with Students as necessary.
• Inform the Programme Coordinator of all activities planned for the LC.

• Provide information and advice about BOU programmes to other interested parties at your LC.
• Attend all BOU training and professional development activities.
• Perform any other task the Regional Campus may assign in an effort to improve the quality of service in the LC.

BOU pays competitive allowance for supervision of learning centres which will be stipulated in the letter of offer and payable upon satisfactory execution of duties as laid down in the contract of engagement.
