SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SPECIALIST

Reporting to the IT and Security Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to provide uninterrupted expertise in IT Services and support to the entire organisation.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

• Ensure First and second level Support for Microsoft applications.
• Ensure the maintenance and support servers and workstations.
• Ensure the maintenance and support of storage area network.
• Provide support for VMware, Citrix & other business applications.
• Provide the technical administration of the event correlation and reporting tools.
• Translate rules from the Threat Intel Analyst into configuration requirements and develop the necessary correlation and reporting capabilities.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning application or device problems.
• Provide 2nd & 3rd level support to desktop users and training to effectively carry out day to day duties.

• Install and configure hardware and software for hosting business and clients applications.
• Setup remote connectivity for external and internal clients including internet access.
• Support and maintain all IT & Security infrastructure equipment.
• Ensure provisioning storage required by different departments.
• Implement backup process and procedures for all IT systems including the IT BCP implementation.
• Manage teams through motivation and encouraging synergy between the various actors.
• Participates in risk analysis and expression of systems needs on projects (RFP).
• Contributes to the updating of the security framework, drafting safety rules.
• Participates in the resolution of security incidents.
• Ensures the update of OS, databases and development platforms, by monitoring and ensures an effective patch management.

• Evaluates vulnerability level of websites and proposes solutions to protect them.
• Training and mentoring of junior staff.
• Coordinates change management processes and configurations
• Ensures projects delivery as per strategy guidelines.

Skills:

• Microsoft products skills, Unix/Linux skills, VMware and SAN.
• Good knowledge of Networking.
• Good leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work nights or weekends as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications and Experience :

• Bachelor of Sciences in Computer Studies/Information Systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT.
