Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Upkeep of sectional vehicles
2. Erects communications equipment panels and wires as instructed by the Technician.
3. Installs HF and VHF mobile radio stations as instructed by the Technician.
4. Performs basic routine maintenance of mobile radio systems.
5. Performs basic fibre cable installation and maintenance
6. Keeps telecommunications and ancillary equipment in Substations, radio huts and in the workshop in a tidy, clean manner.
7. Keeps test equipment in good order and ensures they are readily available.
8. Collects quotations and keeps track of purchase requisitions, dispatches orders to suppliers and receives materials and tools from the suppliers.
9. Ensures compliance to SHER procedures when carrying out duties.
10. Promotes safety awareness in line with SHER requirements through periodic audits
