Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Installs, wires and tests telecommunications equipment according to laid down procedures.
2. Trouble shooting and restoration of telecommunication equipment.
3. Carries out routine maintenance and repairs of equipment according to laid down policies and procedures.
4. Ensures that telecommunications test equipment are operational and correctly calibrated.
5. Maintains and updates telecommunications system documentation and drawings.
6. Maintains an inventory of equipment spares.
7. Applies for new and renewal of radio licences in accordance with BOCRA regulations.
8. Ensures good house keeping of telecommunications workshop, radio huts,  communications centre and substation.
9. Compiles periodic and adhoc reports
10. Actively participates in the safety, health and environment programmes as driven by the Corporation.
11. Contributes to the draft sectional budget preparation.
12. Ensures compliance to SHER procedures when carrying out duties.
13.  Promotes safety awareness in line with SHER requirements through periodic audits

UNDERTAKES ANY OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS DIRECTED BY THE SUPERVISOR.
