PROCESS ENGINEER-QUALITY

Job description

To identify, evaluate and develop new process sampling technologies and innovative solutions to process sampling and to provide metallurgical support with regard to product quality issues.

Key Activities

• Identifies, evaluates and develops solutions of improving process sampling technologies.

• Conducts research in order to provide innovative solutions to process sampling and product quality • Reviews quality control methods and identifies quality assurance development requirements

• Perform audits and assessments of product sampling related work and equipment.

• Review product characteristics and compare production against a set of approved product Specifications

• Maintains production and quality records as an internal audit organ

• Ensure external sampling reviews are executed in a cost effective manner.

• Liaises with Maintenance Planning on maintenance issues to ensure smooth running of the laboratory equipment, both in the lab and the plant.

• Liaises with clients for tracking of CSA quality parameters.

• Produces quality reports for management

• Ensures that employees are selected, deployed, trained, evaluated and rewarded in compliance with existing employee management systems

• Coaches, counsels, mentors and disciplines subordinate employees.

• Adheres to and promotes safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements
Degree in Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical
Engineering or Mineral Process Engineering
At least 4 years’ experience as a Metallurgist 2 of which should have been MIT.
Knowledge of SHE management systems (ISO
14001 and OHSAS 18001).
