BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Botswana Open University (BOU) requires a suitably qualified and duty conscious person for the Position detailed below:

Main Purpose of the Job

Working with the Business Development Director and other University structural business units to plan, organize, and implement business development initiatives in line with ODL practices, equipment utilization, research, capacity building and liaises with external organizations and Government agencies
for the development of training opportunities to contribute to business profitability, growth and customer satisfaction

Key Performance Areas.

To;

• Identify and generate new business opportunities by entering into formal partnerships with key players in different economic sectors to ensure sustainable income generation for the university.
• Network and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders by delivering and contributing to presentations, marketing and information dissemination as required to ensure University services and facilities were utilised to meet the needs of clients and of the university.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a customer relationship management database to ensure easy access and engagement with clients to advance the agenda of the University.
• Participate in promotional events where the services of the university could be advertised to ensure that potential clients receive relevant information for decision making.
• Undertake and assess market research which may help find any gaps or new opportunities.

Qualifications, Experience

• A relevant Post -graduate qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in any Business field
• At least five years in a business environment preferably in a higher education institution

• Proven commercial or business development experience
• Knowledge of sources of funding
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Planning and project development skills
• Proven bid writing skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Knowledge of public private partnerships
