Service Technician

• Installation of pumps and other Weir Mineral products
• Start-up commissioning of all Weir Mineral products
• Assist with the assembling of pumps
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and rectification of equipment issues on site
• Carry out and assist in planned maintenance of client’s equipment
• Protect spares business against piracy and competitors in giving feedback of site information through site reports
• Perform repair services of Weir equipment on customers site/s or workshop
• Maintain a high-level service repair work on service contracts
• Keep contract packs up to date
• Provide onsite customer pump operation and maintenance training when required
• Assist with the upkeep of the Health and Safety regulations on all sites
• Accumulate consumption of spares ad pump performance history
• Perform standby duties
• Offer new products, value adding solutions to contracts
• Compile a field service report on the findings, ensure that it is signed bu Customers and submit to Service Center Supervisor.
• Follow up on recommendations from report/s
• Maintain and assist with LEAN implementation
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction at all times & Increase Service Centre revenue
• Adhere to all HSE and housekeeping requirements at the Branch and on site
• Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times

Minimum Education or Qualifications:

• Qualified Fitter & Turner/Milwright
• Valid Drivers license
• Heavy Duty Class driver’s license will be an added advantage
• Forklift license will be an added advantage

Key Skills and Experience:

• 3 years’ experience in Minerals Processign Plants
• Knowledge of pumps, screens, cyclones
• KNowledge of relevant safety legislation
• Good communication skills
• Strong technical understanding
• Computer literate – MS Office Suite
• Identify and solve problems in a timely manner
• Customer focused
• Safety conscious
