2 X RISK MANAGERS – BANCABC

The applicant will direct risk management tasks to identify, manage and optimize the overall risk profile of the function, thereby contributing the to the overall

BancABC Botswana Risk profile. The role will provide support, advice and direction to the function on a range of financial and operational business risk issues.

You will take overall ownership of risk in the function and be responsible for embedding a risk culture to drive the desired awareness of risk. The role quantifies all key risks in terms of likelihood and impact and agree with the risk owners appropriate actions for mitigation and improvement. This role will therefore be responsible for driving implementation of actions.

You must therefore have sound Risk Management appraisal skills encompassing knowledge of operational risk. You should also be an independent thinker who is able to form a risk view given limited information and who is not easily influenced. You need to portray an assertive behaviour and be a diplomatic, resourceful problem solver.

You are also required to be analytical and have an attention to detail to be able to interrogate data, combined with strong developed judgement and decision making skills. This would include changes to risk and broader risk frameworks and trends in risk thinking, Currency movements, market movements, macro and microeconomic events, evolving technology, product developments, new

geographies and new industries.

Key Competencies

• Knowledgeable of Risk fundamentals and structured lending
• Relevant banking, finance, Audit or Accounting degree
• At least 5 years Banking Experience with 3+ years’ in Risk Management
• Knowledge of Risk fundamentals and in-country regulatory requirements (e.g. AML)
• Experience of working in Africa (advantageous)
• Strong knowledge of the full MS Office skills with Advanced Excel
