For a must you also should be an independent thinker who is able to form a risk view given limited information and who is not easily influenced. You need to portray an assertive behavior and be a diplomatic, resourceful problem solver.

Be analytical and have an attention to detail to be able to interrogate data, combined with strong developed judgement and decision-making skills. This would include changes to Risk Function and broader risk frameworks and trends in risk thinking, Currency movements, market movements, macro and microeconomic events, evolving technology, product developments, new geographies and new industries.

You will take overall ownership of risk function and be responsible for embedding a risk culture within the function to drive the desired awareness of risk. The role quantifies all key risks in terms of likelihood and impact and agree with the risk owners appropriate actions for mitigation and improvement. This role will therefore be responsible for driving the implementation of actions.

Key Competencies:

• Knowledgeable of in-country regulatory requirements (e.g. AML), Risk fundamentals and structured lending
• A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or computer science is required
• 10 years of working experience with 3+ in Information Security management position, is also required.
• Candidates with certification in information security (CISSP, CSSLP, CCFP, CISM, etc.) or comparable work experience will be given preference
• Risk Management experience
• Knowledge of emerging markets (advantageous)
• Experience of working in Africa (advantageous)
• Strong knowledge of the full MS Office skills with Advanced Excel
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008/Unix server required
• Microsoft Project experience preferred
