Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) is the country’s main agency for commercial and industrial development whose primary mandate is to drive the industrialization of the country by providing financial assistance to investors with commercially viable projects. BDC provides both debt and equity financing to commercially viable projects with the aims, among others of pioneering new industries, unlocking value in existing industries, stimulating private sector growth and fostering linkages with the local industry, driving diversification and exports and creating significant employment.

The Managing Director’s role is to realize the BDC mandate by exploring the potential of local and external markets while exemplifying the highest level of professionalism and leadership with particular emphasis on providing strategic direction, exceptional corporate governance, sound risk management and managing and leading a team of professionals to ensure strong business performance which is achieved with integrity and best practice. It’s a huge remit which is why the corporation is looking for a highly astute, decisive and credible leader whose skills have been perfectly developed and honed for such a challenge.

A solid financial services professional with a post-graduate business related degree, and at least 12 years experience at executive level is required. This coupled with demonstrable leadership skills, and experience managing within a complex environment is essential. You will be an excellent strategist, with a confident mature personality with highly honed interpersonal skills. This role requires someone with an impressive track record of success who is eager for this high-profile and the opportunity to positively impact the country and its people.
