FORKLIFT OPERATOR – UNITRANS BOTSWANA

Unitrans Botswana, a road freight and fuel and chemical transportation, distribution and logistical Company requires the services of an experienced Botswana citizens to fill the following vacancy:

FORKLIFT OPERATOR

The position is tenable in the Francistown Cement Warehouse and the incumbent will be expected to carry out the operation of a forklift in the loading of goods in a safe, secure & economic manner and in compliance with legal and operational requirements.

He/she will be have to meet the following requirements:

• Hold a Class “H” Driver’s Licence
• Preferably hold a Junior Certificate
• Have at least one year experience in operating a forklift in a busy environment, preferably in Fuel & Chemical and cement transport or mining operations
• Be medically fit
• Willingness to work with Safety, Health, Environment & Quality systems

Some of the specific duties will entail:

• Conducting daily inspection of the forklift using checklist
• Recording and reporting all defects on the forklift for submission to the workshop

• Maintaining the cleanliness of the forklift
• Operate forklift to load or off-load goods at or from the warehouse and rail wagons
• Handle emergencies, accidents, incidents and breakdowns
• Assist in stock counting every month- end
• Ensure adherence to all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) requirements of the Company to prevent injury, damage to product and equipment
