Background

Abari Communications is an internet and connectivity solutions provider working in the ICT sector of Botswana and the region.

Technical Manager

The main duties of the Technical Manager will be to:

• Managing the IT infrastructure resources, including drafting and executing its budget, developing its organisation structure
• Optimize costs of organization-wide infrastructure and application services through an appropriate mix of internal and external resources
• Monitor system/health availability
• Implement processes to identify and mitigate information risks within the organisation
• Ensure technology platform availability compliance to Service Level Agreements
• Establish, maintain and regularly test a disaster recovery plan
• Ensure and Monitor security

The candidate must demonstrate the following capabilities:

• Good technical and analytical skills
• Be risk and control oriented
• Excellent communication skills and ability to write reports that can translate technical jargon into business related decisions for management
• Translate business needs to technical specifications for deployment

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• A professional certification in various technologies especially Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft and Fortinet
• Proven track record of managing an infrastructure related ICT service.
• Experience in supporting/managing technologies such as: Windows Server, infrastructure (SAN,

Virtualization), Exchange and content filtering technologies, enterprise level backup solutions and next generation network design

• The ideal candidate should have 5-8 years’experience having worked in an ICT environment
