Job Purpose
JobOverview
To carry out installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, rectification/modification and commissioning of metering and energy management equipment/schemes, in order to ensure accurate and reliable metering schemes.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
JobRole
  1. Installs and commissions metering and energy management equipment in accordance with approved specifications and designs.
  2. Downloads and takes meter readings for Large Power Users and bulk supply points for billing and planning purposes.
  3. Conducts periodic inspection of metering and energy management equipment and makes preliminary reports on the status of the equipment.
  4. Performs routine preventive maintenance of metering and energy management equipment in accordance with laid down standards and procedures.
  5. Updates and maintains database of metering test results and settings to facilitate referencing and problem solving.
  6. Maintains an inventory of all metering and energy management equipment and ensures that required spares are ordered on time.
  7. Ensures that test equipment is operational and correctly calibrated in order to maintain metering and energy management equipment accuracy and reliability.
  8. Attends and provides technical advice on metering fraud and investigations.
  9. Carries out diagnosis and repairs of metering equipment mal-operation
  10. Actively participates in the SHE programs as driven by the Corporation
  11. Undertakes any other related duties as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Recognised Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Registration with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
  • Must obtain Senior Authorization within six (6) months for internal candidates and twelve (12) months for external candidates
Experience

Two (2) years’ experience in maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in a High Voltage Environment.
