Position: Mechanic General

Outputs:

• Responsible for repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting of earthmoving equipment machine
• Advise customers and operators on the correct use of caterpillar machinery
• Communicate job status to Internal customers and supervisors
• Prepare parts orders and complete daily service reports
• Communicate job status to Internal customers and supervisors
• Assist with Artisan and Learner development through online training

Requirements

• National Craft Certificate in Heavy Plant
• NTC / N3 certificate
• Sound technical knowledge of earthmoving equipment machine systems
• 3 years post qualification experience on Caterpillar machines
• Diagnostics ability
• Must be familiar with caterpillar software and tools is ET, VIMS, SIS etc
• Sound verbal communication skills (discuss and explain repairs to customers
• Ability to work accurately and diligently to ensure quality repairs to machines
• Ability to follow instructions and cope with demands
• Must be able to work independently and work overtime
