The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Commerce or equivalent professional qualification (CIS, CIMA. or ACCA) and have 10 to 15 years tax experience in a senior management position, preferably in a professional accounting firm.

Role and functions:

Providing tax advisory and compliance services, development of client relationships, identifying tax opportunities for the growth of the tax service line, revenue generation and meeting targets, project reviews and team management, training, development and counselling of Junior Consultants. Consultants and Senior Consultants, billing and managing work in progress.

Skills and Competencies

• The ideal candidate should have proven superior tax technical ability in VAT and Income Tax,
• Has project management skills to manage budgets and work in progress for clients,
• Be competent in compiling/written reports, has the ability to communicate and interact at all levels.
• Be proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
• Should be a team player, deadline driven and can cope under pressure.
• Should possess good interpersonal skills, presentation skills and evidence of good leadership.
• A good understanding of deferred tax is a necessity for this position.
• Working knowledge of the Tax legislature in neighbouring countries, as well as accounting experience, is an added advantage.

Internal Auditor

The ideal candidate should possess a CA/ACCA/ CIS/CIA qualification or equivalent as well as 2-4 years Internal Audit Experience.

Having worked at one of the ‘Big Four’ professional accounting firms is an advantage.

Candidates holding a CISA with IT Audit experience, including knowledge of Internal Audit Standards. King, Corporate Governance and controls will get preference.

Duties

• Leading an Internal Audit team on client engagements
• Developing audit programs, working papers, and internal audit reports
• Performing risk assessments
• Identifying performance improvement opportunities for clients
• Reviewing the working papers prepared by Junior Internal Auditors in the team
• Assisting with reporting on internal audits on multiple clients
• Reporting on findings and presenting to Client

Management

Key Responsibilities:

• Candidates should have a proven track record within internal/ external audit environment with a demonstration of strong performance in conducting high-quality audit work, findings & reports
• They should provide sound, practical, and strategic advice on governance. risk management, and control matters

In addition, they should;

• Maintenance of professional standards and independence appearance
• Good communication skills

Seniors/Seniors-ln-Charge/Supervisors

The ideal candidates should be Chartered Accountants and completed articles with a ‘Big Four’Audit firm. Preference will be given to candidates with no less than Five (5) years’ work experience. A good practical understanding of Audit Innovation software and methodology will be an advantage.

Qualification and Experience

• ACCA, CIMA or have an equivalent qualification
• Minimum of five (5) years

working experience as an auditor, in an Accounting firm
