Job Description

The Senior Accountant assists the financial controller in managing the finance function within the National Association, ensuring the sound management and effective utilization of the organization’s funds, and full accountability to donors, government and other partners. The incumbent is a member of the National Management Team.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

Ø  Checking all the payments from all facilities and departments before forwarding for approval

Ø  Checking and posting the Navision batches as the transactions are  batched by  the Accountant

Ø  Checking monthly Bank Reconciliation statements and sign them off and follow up all the unpresented cheques and uncredited receipts to ensure they are dealt with accordingly.

Ø  Technically and administratively supervise National Office  Accountant and  Administrators

Ø  Offer technical support and advice to Facility Heads in the NA

Ø  In charge of internal controls and procedures and in the NA

Ø  Ensuring completeness, quality, accuracy and promptness of submission of the requested records including the budgets

Ø  Ensure regular updates of fixed assets register and an updated register circulated to all Facility Heads and Accountants for continuous labelling of assets.

Ø  Work very closely with Financial Controller in the preparation and consolidation of the NA budget and NA Financial statements and budgetary controls and reconciliations.

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

Part qualified in ACCA/CIMA or equivalent  and 5 years work experience in a similar role

You will work directly with the children and youth

Strong and highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Clean driving license.

Ability to work in a busy and dynamic environment
