Principal Officer – Pula Medical Aid Fund

Pula Medical Aid Fund, which is one of the largest medical aid funds in Botswana, is looking for an incisive leader with strong business acumen, as well as, a proven track record of building effective teams to take up the position of Principal Officer who is Chief Executive Officer of the organisation.

THE JOB

• Accountable to the Board, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
• Developing medium to long-term strategies of the organisation and overseeing their implementation.
• Leading the management of the day to day operations of the FUND.
• Identifying critical business success factors and developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
• Ensuring full risk and compliance standards and requirements are implemented, monitored and actively managed.
• Overseeing the management of finances to ensure that the FUND  remains financially viable and is able to achieve its strategic objectives
• Managing key relationships with Regulatory bodies, as well as, with organisational and industry stakeholders.
• Acting as the Brand Ambassador for the Fund.
• Ensuring maximisation of value for the FUND through effective financial management.
• Managing performance of key staff to ensure that the FUND is able to meet its strategic objectives.

THE PERSON

The right candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences, Actuarial Sciences Economics, Finance and Accounting or related field. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field will be a strong advantage.In addition, the candidate must possess at least ten (10) years post qualification experience in a business or health services environment and /or medical aids of which four (4) should have been at executive management level.
