MECHANICAL ENGINEER – MUPANE GOLD MINE

Reporting to the Processing Manager, the Mechanical Engineer should have a Degree in Mechanical I Engineering or equivalent and at least 10 years’experience in order to provide an effective installation testing I and maintenance of all mechanical equipment.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Ensure control technology is accurately calibrated and achieves optimum performance development. Implementation and successful management of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
• Maintaining mining mechanical plant and equipment to high levels of availability and reliability whilst controlling costs and spare parts availability
• Development, justification and Implementation of approved performance improvement initiatives Including associated capital equipment acquisition, Installation and commissioning
• Mining process commissioning
• Liaison with process team to develop the maintenance process
• Selection and management of maintenance contractors
• Ensuring safety and environment procedure development and implementation
• Maintaining hard rock crusher, mills, screens, feeders, pumps, motors (DC,AC and Synchronous)

• Providing a basic knowledge of SCADA and Telemachnique modicon TSX PLC
• Eligible for statutory appointment as per the Botswana Mines Quarry and Machinery Act
• Underground mining mechanical and electrical maintenance experience

Successful candidates should have excellent technical knowledge and skills, including strong organizational and operational skills with the ability to communicate with others and a ‘team orientated’ approach to the achievement of tasks.
