We are looking to fill the following position:

Finance Officer

Overall job purpose

To perform general financial reporting function for Barclays Life Botswana Main accountabilities

• Timely management of payables and processing of payments every month
• Preparation of cash/bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly data files for actuarial valuations
• Payments reconciliation of claims and premium refunds with the various stakeholders every month
• Preparation of accurate accounts receivables and accounts payables reconciliations on a monthly basis, including ageing analysis of the receivables
• Production of accurate financial performance review pack by the stipulated date each month
• Prepare ad-hoc management accounting reports/analysis, as may tie requested for decision making
• Accurate calculation and payment of commission on a timely basis
• Prepare financial reports as requested for Head Office reporting
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Education and experience

• Bachelor of Accounting or AAT and progress in ACCA/CIMA/BICA examinations
• At least two years work experience in Accounting and Auditing

Knowledge and skills

• Some knowledge of competitor products and processes
• Excellent numeric skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills especially verbal
