CIGARETTE PACKING MACHINE TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following.

• Planning for both medium and short term maintenance of a cigarette packing machine
• Set up equipment and machinery to the specification of factory equipment and material
• Monitoring the performance of factory machinery, equipment and plant as well as providing expert advice on all factory equipment requirements
• Operate the machine, conduct machine overhaul and implementing preventive methods

• Training and development of subordinates within the section
• Liaison with management on manufacturing technological changes

Qualifications and Experience

• Tobacco Cigarette Machinery Mechanics certificate. Diploma or apprenticeship
• Technician Certificate in Cigarette packing machines
• Sound knowledge of Tobacco Cigarette Manufacturing equipment
• A minimum of 15 years experience m the cigarettes and allied industries

Competencies

• Competent m the use of computer equipment in the cigarette industry
• Must be competent in the tobacco and materials management processes
