Quality Controller – Gemologist (X1) and Diamond Marker wanted at SDDS Botswana

Competency
• Proven diamond grading experience with expertise in EX, VG and G makes of both round and fancy
• A strong understanding in the field of quality control of both part-processed and fully polished diamonds
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills within a diverse group of individuals
• Attention to Detail – Detail minded with good concentration skills
• Good spoken English and basic English writing ability.

Experience & Qualifications
• Applicants must have BGCSE/O Level OR a Graduate Gemologist diploma from a recognised institution (GIA, IGI, AGS, HRD, EGL) with proven gemology background and experience. Task
• Sorting rough goods into the required categories.
• Marking to maximize value based on SDDS requirements and producing estimated polished goods in the qualifying colour and qualities.
• Nominate Sawn and Mb stones for polished outcome size, colour and clarity.
• Performs other diamond activities, meeting the required specifications and production targets. This may include clarity grading, colour grading, fluorescence grading, tension checking, marking for Turbo 1, Treatment.

Competency
• A basic understanding of polished grading and proportions.
• Good spoken English and Basic English writing ability.
• Experience with Sarine rough and polished evaluation technology
• Rough sorting, polishing, sawing or cleaving experience would be an advantage but are by no means required.

Experience & Qualifications
• Prior production experience
• BGCSE, +4 years in Diamond production
