Job Summary

To provide strategic direction, guidance and thought leadership to a team that will execute all
major process projects for Debswana.

The role takes accountability for the planning, management of a programme for process
projects and setting-up the necessary organisational structures, project processes and
supporting control systems to ensure capital is managed effectively whilst aligning and
leveraging opportunities between the projects that make up the process programme to
maximise value to the organisation.

Minimum Requirements
– Degree in Engineering related discipline
– Twelve (12) years’ experience, four (4) of which should have been served at Senior
Management level
– Qualification in Project Management at Post graduate level

Key activities
– Establish a highly skilled process team, consistent with world’s best practice in mining.
– Ensure optimal management of project capex including the selection and prioritization of
process projects.
– Ensure existence of robust operational readiness plans for seamless transition of projects
from implementation to operational phase.
– Ensure a project delivery organisational structure that takes into account the scale of Debswana’s process plant projects inclusive of role definition and clarity, succession planning, talent attraction and retention as well as progressive development of the project
team.
– Considers and deploys a range of process technologies available on the market to ensure
optimal evolution of our process plants.
– Develop frameworks and manages the implementation of and adherence to legal and
corporate governance principles/requirements.
– Manage the overall functional safety, health and environment programme in line with
organizational strategy and objectives.
