The Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis (BIDPA) is an independent trust set up by a Presidential Directive. It started operations in 1995 as a non government policy research institute. BIDPA focuses mainly on Research and Policy Analysis and Capacity building m policy analysis. The focus of BIDPA work is informed by the Institutes mandate as defined in the deed of trust that formed the institution.

ASSOCIATE RESEARCHER / RESEARCH FELLOW – ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE SPECIALIST [Re Advertisement]

Main Purpose of the Job: To complete research and consultancy assignments in accordance with client expectations, within agreed deadlines and budget

Education and Experience

Associate Researcher:

• Should have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or equivalent. Work experience is not a requirement

Research Fellow:

• Should have a Masters or PhD degree in any Environmental Science or any related field. Applicants with a Master’s degree should have at least four (4) years post-Master’s degree work experience and a good publication record.

Knowledge, Attributes and Skills: Good understanding of theoretical economic concepts, research methodology and statistical methods; Ability to write and present research reports clearly and concisely for both technical and non technical audiences; Good communication and report writing skills; Computer literacy; and Ability to work within a team.

REMUNERATION

Salary will be commensurate with work experience.

TENURE

BIDPA offers an appointment on contract duration of 5 years with a possibility of renewal on successful completion.
