Main Purpose of the Job
Responsible for managing study centres and coordinating the administration of processes and operations related to student recruitment and enrolment in the Regional Campus in accordance with applicable University policies and standards to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and achievement of University enrolment targets and goals
Key Performance Areas
- Monitors and maintains the workflow of admission operations in the Campus against targeted performance and produce regular and ad-hoc reports to ensure the achievement of performance targets.
- Assists the Manager to plan in order to meet the strategic business objectives of the region by forecasting, tracking and analysing regional enrolment trends to ensure fact-based operational and strategic decisions.
- Maintains study centres by providing learning facilities and equipment to create a safe and secure environment that is conducive to quality teaching and learning to ensure the achievement of the mission of the University.
- Coordinates the operations of study centres by ensuring that services provided comply with University standards to ensure performance efficiency and effectiveness
- Interprets and implements the applications and admissions processing policies and standards of the University in partnership with senior staff to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the processes.
- Provides guidance and training in the use and maintenance of the learner ITS system to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of admissions and records processes
- Cultivates and maintains productive working relationships to ensure system coherence and integration
- Ensures the security and safekeeping of enrolment records both manual and electronic to ensure availability and compliance
Qualifications, Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferably distance education
- Records and Information management training an added advantage
- At least 3 years’ experience in tertiary admissions with demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of admissions
Competencies
- Knowledge of University administrative and academic standards
- Strong organisational ability
- Analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong problem solving
- Sound knowledge of distance education processes
- Proficiency in MS Office
