ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT wanted at Mupane Gold Mining (Pty) Ltd (MGM)

Mupane Gold Mining (Pty) Ltd (MGM) is a 100% owned subsidiary of The Canadian TSX Venture exchange-listed company GALANE GOLD LTD, a gold producer and explorer with Its operations in the Republic of Botswana.

The Mupane gold mine is located approximately 50 kilometres by road from Francistown in north eastern Botswana. In continuous operation since 2005, MGM has recently Increased the operational life of mine and exploration activities are on-going to determine if there are further opportunities to develop additional resources.

The company invites applications for the following position:-

ELECTRICAL SUPERINTENDENT

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Superintendent will hold BSc/ BENG in Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of seven (7) years experience in maintenance of industrial plant, of which at least three (3) years should have been at a senior level with specific areas of experience.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Solid knowledge of Safety and environmental policy procedure development and implementation
• Conversant with Botswana Minos, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act CAR 44:02 and eligible for appointment as an Electrical Engineer.
• Strong asset management experience focusing on maintenance execution, planning managing major overhauls and outages and formulating maintenance strategies to meet production requirements.
• Continuous improvement focusing on reviewing maintenance and operating procedures to ensure conformance with plant modifications, revisions to operating limits and life extension
• Experience in Metallurgical Processing plant C&L and optimisation of plant processes.
• Experienced in maintaining process control instrumentation.
• Expertise in reticulation, maintenance and operation of high voltage equipment of up to 66kv.
• Selection and management of maintenance contractors.
• Experienced in maintaining hard rock crushers, mills, screens, feeders, pumps, motors (DC, AC, and Synchronous) and associated instrumentation.
• Solid knowledge of SCADA in particular in touch Wonderware and PLCs in particular Modicon PL7 and Allen Bradley.
• A strong command for synchronous and DC motor variable drives.
• Drawing up technical specification for major equipment, plant modifications and new projects.
• Work knowledge of several failure root cause analysis techniques.

The successful applicant must have a traceable record of providing electrical and instrumentation maintenance in large industrial plants and comprehensive knowledge of the Mines Regulations and excellent technical knowledge and skills, including strong organisational and operational skills. The candidate should have good computer and presentation skills.
