EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: PORTFOLIO MANAGER

BlackThread Capital was established in 2007 as a niche asset management firm In Botswana. We are looking for a vibrant, talented and young investment professional to fill the above position.

This role requires an Individual with a passion for Investment management The candidate must bring a depth of qualitative and quantitative analytic capability to leader in the management of a broad spectrum of established investment portfolios and strategies in line with policies and our underlying Investment philosophy. Equally so, the successful candidate must demonstrate a strong professional and ethical disposition. The candidate will report directly to the Chief investment Officer.

Key accountabilities:

« Collection and management of data to support the quantitative analytics for client portfolios.

• Coordinate and lead in risk and quantitative oriented tasks to support the Investment process.
• Lead in the production of internal reports, research and presentation materials on a continuous basis.
• lead in the preparation of documents used for Investment Committees and external client reporting.
• Help with the production of ad hoc and follow up documents for products, strategies, and clients, in conjunction with the Investment team.

Candidate Profile:

1. Academic qualifications: The candidate must Ideally possess a tertiary degree plus established work towards a professional qualification such as the CFA or ACCA. Membership to professional body and having passed level 2 of the CFA will be an added advantage.
2. Years of Experience: The candidate must have at least 5 years relevant post graduate experience in finance. Investments or insurance.

The candidate must further fully demonstrate the following:

1. A strong ability to maintain and manipulate data in Excel as well as information and chart in PowerPoint. Other programming, systems and automation skills will be an added benefit
2. Strong work ethic
3. Detail oriented with attention to accuracy;
4. Ability to meet or exceed deadlines;
5. Ability to work independently and take responsibility for tasks;
6. Diligence and strong commitment to deliver.
7. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and articulate eloquently
8. Demonstrable knowledge and interest in global capital markets.
