KHOEMACAU COPPER MINING – HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER

Key Performance Areas

●Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company policies and procedures
●Monitor and audit Health and Safety programmes, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and company policies, procedures and standards
●Respond to emergency situations and leads incident investigations to determine root cause
●Lead in the identification, analysis and control of occupational hazards to minimise incidents

●Coach all site personnel (including contractors) and line management on all safety related matters
●Coordinate and conduct safety audits on regular basis and address all hazards appropriately
●Ensure all contractors comply with good health and safety standards

Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills

●Diploma or Degree in Occupational Hygiene/Safety Management or equivalent qualification such as a National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM)
●Minimum 5 years experience in Health and Safety, preferably in a mining environment
●Knowledge and Experience in root cause analysis (RCA)
●Knowledge and Understanding of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001,Mines Quarries Works and Machinery Act

●Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and work well independently to communicate and within a team
●Must be in possession of a valid Class B Driver’s Licence
