We have an immediate opportunity for a qualified HSE Manager if you are a dedicated individual, we would like to hear from you.

Location: Kokong Exploration Site, DeBeers

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring each region has appropriate governance processes and mechanisms in place while actively representing the HSE function,
• Prioritizing Occupational Health Safety and Environmental in the workplace
• Integrate Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management Into the normal business process
• Prepare and implement an Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management Plan for the company
• To ensure the effective management of risks are identified in systems and programs in order to ensure the company achieves optimal performance in all aspects of Occupational Health Safety and Environmental
• Identify and provide relevant training for the development of employees.
• Provide information and advice to all operations on Occupational Health Safety and Environmental matters.
• Conduct audits, and provide written reports on the company’s Occupational Health Safety and Environmental performance as measured against the safety .program and industry standards.
• Comply with relevant safety and accident reporting requirements and statistics.
• Prepare Monthly and Yearly records, reports, and statistics.
• Keep up to date with changes to legislation and industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, procedures and rules.

REQUIREMENT

Education/Skills:

• Degree/ Diploma in any of the Occupational Health Safety and Environmental fields, engineering or Science.
• HSE professional qualifications (management level desirable).
• Strong working knowledge of the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act and related local OHSE laws and regulations.
• Workplace Training and Assessor Qualification and Certification desirable
• Occupational First Aid Level desirable
• Formal training in a reputable incident investigation model. ICAM is an added advantage
• Member of an internationally recognized occupational health and safety institute desirable.

Experience:

• 5-7 years experience in various HSE roles, including project HSE management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health Safety and Environmental systems, design and implementation.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in safety audits, ISO 45001 and 14001.
• Demonstrated skills in auditing and inspection practices.
• HSE training experience or related activities.

Communication/Interpersonal skills:

• Have excellent leadership and communication abilities at all levels.
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft office suite).
• Interested and motivated to work in a multi-cultural environment.
