- Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by working within established knowledge management systems which includes but not limited to Digitization, Archives Administration, Records Management, Document Management and Library & Resource Centre Management.
- Identifies and prioritize types of knowledge to develop and capture.
- Implements and maintains processes to ensure knowledge management efforts are shaping BPC Strategy and information decision making.
- Provides support to staff to establish and nurture communities of practice or learning communities.
- Creates collaborative tools to facilitate sharing of ideas among staff and stakeholders.
- Delivers a local document management system to support an office or department.
- Leads and establishes requirements to develop organisational document management systems in consultation with r Knowledge Management Coordinator in collaboration with IT.
- Manages the provision of postal, courier/messengerial services
- Supports and enables others to use and benefit from existing data management systems.
- Delivers prescribed outcomes by working as directed within established data management systems and procedures.
- Manage the BPC archive and records repository, containing current and historic records.
- Collect data on Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) insights and experiences and establish a knowledge repository.
- Delivers required outcomes by working within an established project management plan.
- Produces accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting that data into standard formats.
- Analyses key themes using data from a wide range of sources to execute an appropriate cause of action.
- Carries out prescribed client management activities and provides support to others by following existing procedures.
- Manages internal and external customer relationships by using client systems and protocols.
- Maintains effective working relationships with internal BPC’s business unit managers, customers and external suppliers.
- Delivers prescribed outcomes by working within established procedures.
- Develops procedures for area of expertise with guidance from management, then monitors implementation of those procedures within the organization.
- To provide input in the development of digitization strategy and to ensure its implementation and management of institutional memory.
- Identifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, then uses established change management programs to deliver prescribed outcomes and/or provide support services.
- Implements new business practices for own discipline, while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organisation’s change management program.
- Initiates mechanisms to promote innovation in the company and establish these mechanisms to identify and trigger implementation of innovative ideas.
- To monitor and evaluate the impact of Knowledge Management services.
- Identifies shortcomings in current compliance processes, systems and procedures; develops ad hoc solutions to immediate problems within assigned unit and/or discipline.
- Implement initiatives for Quality Assurance and Information Governance Management.
- Carries out on-the-job training in order to increase the flexibility, efficiency and capability of the team.
- Manages the motivation and discipline of staff in the area of responsibility in line with laid down procedures to realize the Corporation’s objectives
- Manages the performance of the team by working within a performance management system
- Proposes and implements staff development plans for the area of responsibility to ensure competent, efficient and motivated staff
- Delivers own prescribed outcomes and/or provides support services by using the organisations safety, health and environment systems and protocols.
Degree in Archives & Records Management, Information Systems, Information Sciences, Knowledge Management or equivalent.
- At least two (2) years hands-on experience at supervisory level managing organisational knowledge and records management systems.
- The candidate should have an understanding of Records and Information Management procedures.
