VACANCY CIRCULAR NO.18 OF 2019

POST: TEMPORARY ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana Citizens for the above position tenable in Bobirwa Sub District Council for a period of 3 months from date of assumption of duty

SALARY:  C3 (P99, 348 – P118,76) per annum

QUALIFICATION: COSC/BGCSE and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), BA Accounting or related from any recognized University.

BENEFITS: Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme; Government pays 50% and Employee 50%.

Scarce skills allowance as per the Attraction and Retention Policy for the Public Service.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist in conducting Financial Accounting in Council

DUTIES

-Maintains subsidiary ledgers of advances, imprests, house rent etc.

-Maintains the records of payment of utilities

-Maintain the asset register. Investigates and analyses all the expenditure of Capital and Recurrent nature incurred in asset creation

-Main records of drought relief where applicable. Analyses the same in relation to job performed. Suggests internal controls to avoid  excess expenditure.

-Undertakes any other related duties as directed by Management
