Managing the bidding projects/process
• Developing standard sales templates for managing the bid process and creating bid documents based on benchmark best-in-class examples;
• Managing the bidding process end-to-end, involving cooperating roles from within the company (eg. Pricing, Technology, Legal);
• Ensuring each bid complies with internal governance and is fully compliant with customer specifications;
• Ensuring that final bid documents are delivered to customers in compliance with RFP etc;
• Developing and agreeing KPI, measures and targets for bid performance; monitor performance against agreed targets;
• Developing bid pricing and appropriate margin strategy and ensuring timely approval by management, and;
• Leading and generating responsive, compliant and compelling proposal responses to solicitations, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs and other assignments with deadlines. Gathering proposal deliverables from Business Lines, preparing final proposal draft for approval, and distributing final proposal for distribution to customers.
Product Development and Management
• Responsible for putting in place a product/service development and management policy and approach and ensuring the adherence to that policy related to introduction of new products, removal of existing ones or enhancements across the entire business;
• Working with the Operations Team and Sales Managers for developing products and their pricing;
• Managing product performance and creating dashboards for management reporting review;
• Ensuring appropriate pricing in line with costing and marketing strategy and responsible for ensuring that ALL products and services offered to clients are in line with the company’s approved pricing;
• Development and the execution of Go To Market (GTM) strategies for specific products/services and (or) campaigns, and;
• Tracking all products performance, including sales trends, margins, market share, probability and sharing reports with the Management Team.
Customer engagement and Negotiations
• Taking part in customer facing negotiation meetings and calls;
• Arranging all post bid reviews with customers, post contract award, and;
• Proactively monitoring engagement dashboard performance and recommend go-to-market (GTM) improvement strategies along with the Sales team.
Manage a structured and effective client retention strategy
• Developing and maintaining plan for effective continuous contact with current customers;
• Facilitating the provision of an effective service to customers, to meet requirements and service satisfaction;
• Ensuring that all service delivery agreements with customers are documented and properly communicated to finance and operations departments, and;
• Ensuring that properly motivated renewal justifications where required are done and discussed with customers where necessary.
Health and Safety
• Participating in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year, and;
• Participating in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, computer engineering, Maths & Economics, business or a related field. A project management qualification would be an added advantage;
• 4+ years’ experience in multinational environment, a product development and or management role;
• Knowledge and experience in financial modelling, costing and pricing;
• Product marketing and development and implementation of Go To Market (GTM) plans for consumer related products;
• Project management knowledge and experience, and;
• Experience in a service or technology – consumer environment.
