SEAMSTRESS tenable in Gaborone

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the post of SEAMSTRESS tenable in Gaborone for a company engaged in manufacturing of coffins and caskets.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To effectively and efficiently perform all inner lining, cloth and artwork on caskets and coffins manufactured at the company’s manufacturing plant. It involves:

• Proper selection of material;
• Cutting the material into sizes as required;
• Specialised stitching of the material;
• Design and fixing of all internal lining work for coffins and caskets;
• Counting, stock taking and keeping the workplace tidy; and
• Assisting other staff members within the manufacturing line.

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or relevant certificate
• At least 7 years on the job work experience in the field
• Good working knowledge about safe use of all tools, including air tooling, nail and staple guns, air orbital routers and buffers;
• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Ability to work as team and meet production targets and observe strict deadlines; and
• Punctuality in attendance and workplace discipline.
