Automation Technician

• Be able to prioritize tasks based on impact to the quality of our output
• Strictly follow the operating procedures set by the Diamond Expert Technical team
• Operates within a multidisciplinary team and communicates ideas for technical improvements
• Collaborates in modification to infrastructure and equipment to ensure production capacity with focus to quality
• Ensures there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdown
• Co-operates in the organizing of the workshop in terms of work planning, ensures it is kept clean, safe and in accordance with security standards/protocol

• Familiar with electronics and mechanics of machines
• Must be willing to learn the manufacturing process and understand the need for mechanical precision in order to achieve the required quality of our diamond
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Strong people management and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of the following will be an added advantage:
  Bruiting/coning/auto burning and lathe machines
  Dialit/ setting stations / sarin/microscope

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma/National Higher Diploma/ technical qualification in the field of Mechatronics/Electrical & Electronics or equivalent with demonstrated experience
• At least 3 years’ experience in hands on Maintenance, Engineering or Automation in an industrial or manufacturing field
• Must possess in-depth understanding in one or more engineering fields (electrical, software instrumentation, mechanical)
