PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST – TWO POST

JOB PURPOSE

Accountable to the Manager, Procurement and Supply, the incumbent will be responsible for the following among others;

• Organize, plan, and coordinate the procurement function in adherence to established policies and procedures to derive optimal value for the University
• Financial: Authorises and manages budget expenditure within delegated limits.
• Human Capital: recruitment, evaluate performance and recommend performance-based rewards and disciplines in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Risk Management: Implements and manages controls to mitigate risks.
• Assets: Recommends requisition of capital equipment.

THE REQUIREMENTS

The right candidate must meet the following minimum requirements, among others;

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, MCIPS c or related and membership of an internationally recognized ii institute of professional procurement and supply.
• Possess four (4) years’ experience in a supply chain environment, two (2) of which must have been at a Procurement officer c level.
• Expert Knowledge of materials management processes, p procedures, controls and systems.
