Butchery Specialist – Choppies Distribution Centre (Pty) Ltd

Choppies Distribution Centre (Pty) Ltd with stores around Botswana has an exciting opportunity for a Butchery Specialist. The successful incumbent will provide specialist consulting and training for the butchery service departments. This position will offer tho candidate a challenging opportunity as well as a competitive salary.

Key Performance Areas

• Build and maintain effective customer relationships Effective communication with customers (internal and/ or external).
• Check standards to identify adherence or deviations.
• Ensure stores implement and comply with minimum operating standards.
• Formulate and agree with department supervisor/manager and retailer on corrective actions.
• Promote hygiene standards to support the store image Drive promotion at retail to effect sales.
• Schedule visits to all retailer portfolio (call cycle), promotional stock Visit retailers to effect sales.
• Implement a Tadored Service Package (TSP) Identify opportunities for new store equipment and specifications.
• Advise on store systems and train retail staff on the application of systems Comply with legislation and policies.
• Train on stock takes and costing.
• Deliver specialist training.
• Address unproductive unprofitable practices and issues.
• Audit waste control, production standards and processes and formulate action.
• Conduct price checks Assess retailer performance and profitability

Minimum Requirements

• BGCSE Certificate OR any certificate in meat handling or its equivalent.
• A proven seven (7) years of working experience in the same field.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Financial and business acumen.
• Good knowledge of store operations
• Able to work independently.
