HEAD PLANNER – JB SPORTS

JB is a local retail company established in the year 1994. The company has developed from a sports shop to a successful fashion and lifestyle retail store. We are currently looking for a HEAD PLANNER
Overall Job Function:

To contribute to the development of effective merchandise strategies for the company. To review forecasts, use past performance to make projections, make recommendations for promotional markdowns, and manage inventory to maximize profitability. Additionally, research market trends to increase create more attractive offerings.

Responsibilities of Role:

• Manage the development of annual, seasonal, monthly and weekly merchandise plans
• Decide what merchandise to buy based on past sales and market trend forecasts.
• Suggest strategies for promotion and pricing based on current sales trends.
• Track the level of inventory compared to the number of sales, working to quickly turn around products.

• Generate short and long term merchandising plan to meet company financial objectives.
• Ensuring certain measures with the suppliers with respect to the brand, including quality control, accuracy and flexibility, which is done throughout the season
• Monitor stock movement; consider markdowns, inter-branch transfers and promotions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Business-related degree or equivalent
• 4-7 years work experience, in Merchandise Planning
• 1 year of supervisory experience, preferred

Office experience -IT skills, using internal systems, pro-Microsoft Office programs (Excel in particular)
