FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

Duties and responsibilities include

• Assisting with the provision of timely and quality information that is required in the development of the financial strategy
• Processing of or reviewing certain transactions to he processed m the Compan 1 books
• Assisting with financial management including projecting cash flow requirements
• Providing input data/information required in the preparation of board and subcommittee reporting packs
• Supporting the management accountant with the provision of informal / required to prepare budgets, management accounts and other reports
• Processing and reconciling the payroll and maintaining underlying records

• Assisting with ensuring compliance with tax policies and procedures (VAT. PAYE, corporate and other taxes) including but not limited to arranging for accurate and -timely tax deductions, making onward payments to BURS of all applicable taxes on an ongoing basis plus review of contracts from a taxation perspective
• Assisting with preparation of Company only and consolidated audited finance statements
• Assisting with preparing consolidation workings and collating relevant information from investees
• Performing year-end procedures including asset verification in preparation for external audit and supporting broader preparations for internal and external audits
• Checking governance and legal compliance (from a financial perspective) to a delegation of authority framework vis-a-vis transactions entered into by the Company
• Assisting in the identification and management of financial business risks
• Performing any other related duties as required from time to time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Finance, Commerce or related field
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CA/CIMA
• Minimum of Associate Membership of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants

Experience

• A minimum of eight (8) general experience in the accounting field three (3) ot which should be post-professional qualification attainment in a computerised accounting environment, preferably in a group reporting function
• Knowledge of computerised accounting packages is essential
• Supervisory skills would be an added advantage
