VACANCY CIRCULAR NO 9. OF 2019
VACANCY: CHIEF ADMINISTRATION OFFICER II (HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLNESS)
Salary: D4 (P204, 960 – P226, 285 per annum)
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
Benefits: Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government
Contributes 50% and employee 50%)
Compulsory Pension Fund Scheme (Employee contributes 5% and Government 15%)
Qualifications: Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Industrial Psychology or Social Work.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years relevant work experience of which 2 years served on C1 level or equivalent.
Main Purpose of the Job:
To offer a comprehensive safety, health and environment program by creating a conducive physiological and psychosocial workplace environment for Ministry employees.

Key Performance Areas:
1. Educates employees on healthy living by implementing life skills programs, SHE codes and safety standards such as office inspections, physical exercises and healthy eating.
2. Liaises with different stakeholders to test for different illnesses (Tebelopele, Private Health Practitioners, Non-Governmental and Community Based Organizations).
3. Makes preparations for major health day activities.
4. Collects data and compiles report on employee absenteeism for the Ministry.
5. Provides secretarial services for the Ministry Health, Safety and Wellness Committees.
6. Increase awareness on gender, health, safety and environment programs as well as conduct screening for different ailments such as chronic and non-communicable diseases.
7. Identify counselling issues and refer employees for specialist attention as necessary.
8. Implements Information, Education and Counselling services (IEC).
9. Promotes staff participation in Sports and Recreation.
