MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR – Motheo Project – Morupule Coal Mine

Job Purpose and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the incumbent will set up and manage the project Mechanical Works Quality Management system, ensuring compliance to Botswana legislation, alignment with Mine standards and project specifications.

Key Effectiveness Areas

• Responsible for all on-site management for mechanical works including
• Safety Management
• Construction Quality Management.
• Schedule Management (plan, control, co-ordinate and monitor construction activities to meet
• the overall project programme and key activity dates).
• Documentation Management and reporting.
• Material Management
• People Management.
• Construction Management.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Requirements

• Diploma, Higher National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Must have at least 8 to 10 years project construction experience, with at least 10 years as Mechanical Supervisor. Superintendent or Engineer.

Multi-disciplined, construction and commissioning experience, and have effectively managed large teams. Preferably within an owner’s team environment, with EPCM contractor and or subcontractor management experience

• Self-motivated and strong leadership skills, with the ability to work within multiple project teams
