Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health. Department Health Policy Research & Development tenable at Institute of Health Sciences, Serowe, Lobatse, Moicpolole, Frarscistown and Gaborone,

SALARY: Cl (PI 52.724 – P182.484) per annum

BENEFITS: (a) Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% Employee 50%) (b) Contributory Pension (Government contributes 15% and employ contributes 5% of salary)

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Education. Humanities and any other related field.

EXPERIENCE At least four (4) years of relevant work experience in a related field.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To coordinate the implementation of the academic administrative functions as well as interpret training policies and programmes of the Institutes of Health Sciences.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Orientates new students.
2. Disseminates information on institute programmes.
3. Offers career guidance and counselling to prospective candidates. Compiles demographic and academic data for Tertiary Education Council (TEC). Department of Tertiary Education Financing (DTEF), and the University of Botswana (UB).
4. Conducts interviews for prospective students
5. Registers new students into the programmes.
6. Provides secretarial services to admission committee.
7. Prepares academic schedules
8. Conducts orientation of invigilators
9. Develops the assessment spreadsheet in line with academic regulations
10. Prepares academic reports
11. Prepares information material (Academic calendar, prospectus, brochures).
12. Contributes to the development of the unit’s budget.
