Environmental Officer – Khoemacau Copper Mining (Pty) Ltd

• Delivering assigned work and reports within defined time limits
• Playing a leading role in upholding environmental friendly standards and responsibilities
• Scanning the work environment for possible threats and ensure protection of the work environment by all stakeholders
• Ensuring all contractors comply to good environmental standards
• Planning work activities to achieve set goals within defined time limits, planning for resources required for completion of tasks, requesting resources in time for completion of goals
• Using a systems approach to problem-solving ; and striving for continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of a Degree in Environmental Science / Management or any earth science related field
• Minimum of 3 year’s ’work experience in a mining environment or environmental monitoring and management setup

• Excellent communication skills- verbal and written
• Proficiency in community liaison issues and stakeholder involvement for projects execution

• Conversant with most SHEC Management systems including ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001 and ISO 9001 standards; Noise and Vibration Monitors, GPS and Total Station instruments, Ground Water Monitoring, budgeting and financial effectiveness, Natural Resources Management and Aspects Monitoring and Analysis

• Good interpersonal skills; Client/Stakeholder Oriented, Conversant with Corporate supremacy principles, proactive, ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment characterized by sensitivity and respect for diversity
