Our client in the mining industry is seeking suitably qualified citizen candidates, who are highly adaptable and resilient, for the Medical Officer position.

Specification
To provide comprehensive primary and occupational health service• Consults the patient to determine referral, treatment, or counsel
• Conducts minor procedures
• Provides ongoing patient care, through follow-up and study of investigative reports
• Admits and discharges patients manually and through use of the management care system
• Provides emergency care
• Conducts ward diagnostic tests and procedures on the patient (eg, lumbar puncture, insertion of central line)
• Minimises improper waste disposal and contamination by adhering to infection control standards and procedures
• Develops annual budget and manages it effectively
• Manages performance of staff
• Develops policies according to national health standards and ensures implementation
• Conducts fitness assessments (for pre-employment, pre-placement, periodic or exit)
• Conducts disability assessments and completes insurance form

Requirements
• MBChB or MD
•Diploma in Occupational Health and KITSO training an added advantage
• At least 5 years post qualification experience as a Medical Officer
