MOBILE & FIXED CORE ENGINEER – BOTSWANA TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION

Reporting directly to the Mobile & Fixed Core Network Operations Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and correcting mobile and fixed core network performance statistics on a daily basis. You will be required to manage congestion levels and call failures, establishing high-performance levels for supporting designated areas such as fixed voice, video, data and all high-speed services.

The candidate will also be responsible for improving the Inter-Radio Access Technology (IRAT) handover, so handover, location update, paging, call set-up success rate (CSSR), RRC connection and RAB establishment success rate for all voice, video packet and high-speed issuing capacity requests whenever needed.

The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent coupled with five (5) years of professional experience in configuring and maintaining fixed/mobile switching units. ITIL, MSCE certification is a requirement. Membership of a professional association will be an added advantage (IEEE, BIE, ERB etc.)
