POWER TECHNICIAN – BOTSWANA TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION

Reporting to the Power & Air-conditioning Team Leader, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing, operating and maintaining power network systems in accordance with the required specifications and standards. The candidate will also be responsible for application, communication and execution of planned maintenance on all power network systems including generators, rectifiers, UPS, batteries, chiller plants etc.

You will be required to participate in the acceptance of successfully implemented projects from Infrastructure Build, produce reports for all failures with prolonged downtime and impact on customer service delivery and proactively identify vulnerable and weak network components and implement corrective action plans to minimise risks of damage or failure.

The ideal candidate should have a Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent with two (2) years of professional experience in maintaining power and electrical systems in a telecommunications environment. Membership of a professional association will be an added advantage (IEEE, BIE, ERB compliant etc.)
