Officer: Health and Safety

• Conducts routine audits according to procedure
• Participates in disciplinary hearings in conjunction with HR department with regard to Health and Safety issues
• Coordinate the booking of medicals and service providers for operational staff and staff working on operation sites
• Complete SHE incidents /accident, She conditions or She condition of work practices that are dangerous or could lead to pollution immediately
• Arrange and Executing fire drills as per schedule
• Visiting a place of accident/ incident within 24 hours after being informed
• Administer the compensation claims process

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum requirement of Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment or equivalently recognized qualification

• 4 years’ experience in the mining, earth moving or construction industry

• Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act and Regulations, Worker’s compensation Act, Computer literacy with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word (intermediate), SAP and valid driver’s license will be an added advantage

• Ability to sift through information and find root cause for a given issue/ problem
• Ability to coaching, public speaking, networking and ability to build successful, long term relationships with key stakeholders to the benefit of the organisation
