Job Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, The Software Technician will be responsible for designing, developing and executing the installation of plant control and measurement systems (the SCADA). This position will be the custodian of all control and instrumentation equipment and standards for Karowe mine to ensure compliance with relevant instrumentation standards and principles.

Qualifications and Experience:
•Recognized Technician Diploma in Electronics / Control and Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent qualification
•Ideally registered with the Board of Technicians
•Seven(7) years of post-qualification experience, four (4) of which should have been in a similar position
•Extensive knowledge and experience in Rockwell L75 Control Logix 5575 controller and Factory Talk
•Programming of field devices such as Universal Motor Controller (Allen Bradley E3)
•Good troubleshooting skill and ability to extensively program in ladder logic
•Knowledge and experience in working with OPC Client Server.
•Good grasp of Ethernet, Profibus and device net communications protocol is an added advantage
•Good understanding of VSD (WEG VSD)
•Knowledge and Experience with Microtik radio communication is an added advantage
•Basic understanding of the client-server environment and the related maintenance
•Should be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
