Human Resources/ Staff Operations Manager

A unique and individual Safari Camp Operator with an expanding and growing business is looking for a HR Manager. This position will evolve and grow with the individual and as the business grows.

This position will suit someone who wants to support and encourage camp and office staff, is people orientated, has great empathy for the staff experience and remote living, has experience in a management position, enjoys the bush, has strong administration skills and is a clear communicator. They are able to manage themselves and others, understand camp and company needs and work to deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:
• Hold regular staff meetings and address issues raised during the meetings with senior management accordingly.
• Work with camp managers and senior managers to determine staffing needs. Conduct interviews, hire and induct new staff members as necessary.
• Ensure staff members are aware of their role responsibilities and expectations. Assist managers with management of staff performance if necessary.
• Ensure camp administration of registers including overtime and leave is accurate and follows company systems. Assist camp managers with forward planning of leave schedules in line with company strategy and needs.
• Support company staff and assist with facilitating services as necessary including medical care, clinic visits, medication, medical aid membership, bank account assistance, hospital visits, etc.
• Assist senior management with training and development arrangements and administration.
• Administer staff files ensuring that electronic and paper records are kept up to date and accurate.
• Conduct disciplinary hearings and administer required paperwork as necessary.
• Contribute to a positive work environment for everyone.
• Implement company strategy.

Experience in HR or staff operations is a pre-requisite.

This position is based in Maun with frequent overnight visits to camps as necessary. Preference for citizen applicants. A competitive management level salary is being offered.
